1910 New Public Library, Fifth Avenue NEW YORK NY

"The new Library, at Fifth Avenue from 40th to 42nd Streets, occupies the site of the old Croton Reservoir. It was built at a cost of $9,000,000. The cornerstone was laid Nov. 10th, 1902, and the building was opened to the public May 23rd, 1911. It contains over 1,500,000 books, with room for 1,000,000 more."
