1931 Niles Memorial Hall and Library, North Jay, Maine
[LIB2750] - In 1917, the Niles family of North Jay, had the Jay-Niles Memorial Library built in memory of their parents, Veranus and Mehitable Niles and in honor of their sister, Eliza. It was built for approximately $ 50,000 and housed about 1,000 books. Today it houses over 33,000 items and is worth in excess of $ 1,000,000 dollars. [Website]
