[LIB3668]Known as "Prospect Branch" until 1975, Park Slope Branch began at the turn of the century with a small collection of natural history books housed in Prospect Park's Litchfield Mansion. It soon moved to a storefront on Ninth Street, and in 1906 a Carnegie library was built across the street. Interior features include a stained-glass archways supported by freestanding columns, two tiled fireplaces and a vaulted, stained-glass ceiling- original details that remains today.
